City Lights Paranormal Society

Founder of "CLPS"

My name is Joe. I was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, but I now reside in Easton, Pennsylvania. For a long time as a child, I wondered if there was more to life than the things we feel and touch. By this I mean, "What happens when we pass away?" I spent many nights wondering, "Where do we go? Do we reunite with others? Do we get placed somewhere until someone helps us? Do we just vanish and no longer exist? If there is another world, is it better or worse than this one?," etc. So, out of curiosity, I started looking for answers. I read books with no satisfaction, I studied the earth's atmosphere and the elements around us with no reasoning, and I even went as far as to look in abandoned buildings for the truth. I've been to a handful of places, I've heard many things, and, unexplainably, seen things out of the corners of my eyes; but, this wasn't enough because I dismissed it all, assuming my mind was playing tricks on me... Until one day I went to the Graystone Insane Asylum. It was an abandoned building with a 100 year old past. I had the same experiences here that I had in the other places, except for the one thing that changed my mind about the paranormal forever. Now, I am on a hunt for more and I will not stop until Iam the one being hunted...

My name is Kim. I was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. In 2006, my husband and I bought a home in Easton, Pennsylvania, and several of our family members made the move with us. My earliest experience with the afterlife occurred at the age of nine when I suffered the loss of my uncle. We were very close when he was alive, and I remember the grief I felt as if it were just yesterday. I remember being alone in my room crying, about three days after we had buried him, and I was thinking to myself, "Did he know how much I loved him? Does he know how much I will miss him being in my life?" Right at that moment, I had an overwhelming feeling that I was not alone in my room. As I started to clear my eyes of the tears, I saw him. My uncle was standing at the foot of my bed, smiling at me. Before I had a chance to think, he pointed above my head and said, "I know you love me, as I love you. Remember that I will always be with you." Then, he was gone just as quick as he had come. I sat there frozen in that spot for several moments, not knowing what to make of what I had just experienced. Was I so full of grief that I had made this happen in my mind? I turned my head toward the place he had pointed.  I knew, then, what he had been pointing to. My grandmother had given me the set of wooden rosary beads that had been hanging in his casket and I had placed them over my bed the day we came back from the cemetery. In that moment, I knew a true sense of peace in that he would always be with me. Some thirty years later, no matter where I lay my head, those same rosary beads still hang above my bed.  Over the years, I have had other experiences similar to that first one. I don't discount the things I have seen. I truly believe that sometimes people who have passed still have something more to say. They just need someone to listen. So, when my nephew Joe came to me about doing official investigations, it didn't take much to get me on board. I look forward to getting answers to questions that I still have about the paranormal, and hopefully our team can help others get answers that they seek as well...

My name is Marissa. I was born and raised in New Jersey, where I still reside. I have always been interested in and fascinated with the paranormal. Growing up, I have had my share of personal experiences, which terrified me. Now, as I've grown older, I've become more intrigued by them than frightened. I believe in a life after death, but what exactly that entails I am unsure. I am hoping to find some answers as our investigations go on.

My name is Jaime. I have always been fascinated with the paranormal. When I was a child, seeing shadows caused me to be scared of the dark. My family dealt with "Brujeria,” meaning"witchcraft" in Spanish. If I were to explain all of my stories, it would be too much. Just to say it in short, I believe in other beings not of this world. My family is very religious, and we believe in Heaven and Hell. So, if what you do in your life determines when you die and where you go afterwards, and if you’re meant to die regardless, then what is the purpose of living? I feel I need answers to these questions, as well as many others, and I believe that the answers may be with the unrested souls that roam the Earth.

My name is Gladys. I currently live in Paterson, New Jersey. The paranormal has always fascinated me. Part of me can truly say that I'm afraid of it as well. There is just something so frightening about things that we don't understand. However, that does not stop me from wanting to find out whether paranormal entities exist or not. I can honestly say that I've never had a real experience. I'm a true skeptic; it takes a lot to make me believe. I've heard noises and seen things on film that are inexplicable, but I'm still waiting for personal encounters with the paranormal. That is what I seek.

My name is Ellen. I was born and raised in Easton, Pennsylvania. Throughout my life, I haven’t been a firm believer in the paranormal or the supernatural. I believe in Heaven and the presence of angels within our lives, but I’m a bit more skeptical about ghosts and other spirits. As a result, my role within “CLPS” is a more factual, research-based one. As an English major and future teacher, I enjoy both the challenge of researching the history of a building to see what interesting and surprising facts I am able to dig up, and the unquestionably solid nature of the structure, grammar, and mechanics of the English language. I hope that by being an active and supportive member of “CLPS” other skeptics will read my story and stop to open their minds, giving the paranormal a second chance. Because, the truth of the matter is: the more time I spend reviewing evidence from investigations, the more I am starting to think that maybe, just maybe, there may be something more out there…

CITY LIGHTS PARANORMAL SOCIETY

Together, "CLPS" is a group dedicated to bringing answers to the table. We set out on each case with an open mind, focusing on scientificly approaching the claims. This helps us to better assist anyone who acquires our services by covering  up all loose ends. Any noise can be considered paranormal, but the real question is, is it paranormal? Our equipment and knowledge in surrounding fields help us determine what is and what is not. Basically for all questions and concerns, we find answers. Paranormal happenings have been reported from the early 200's B.C. Throughout history, many have tried to perfect the art of paranormal investigations and research. Even with all that can be explained, there are times when we are left with evidence that proves science has no understanding. This phenomenon is what all paranormal investigators hope to recieve; and, by limiting what we consider paranormal, we strengthen our minds to stay focused on what is real. There is more out there, and in time we can only learn; but, for now, we at "CLPS" want everyone to rest assured that we are here to help.
